Marks and Spencer 15,000th store accredited with the Trusted Shops online Trustmark
The milestone comes at a time when Trusted Shops is expanding in Europe, launching the trustmark in the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy.
“We have a well-developed digital infrastructure in these regions which is used successfully by many companies for sales purposes,” said Jean Marc Noel, co-founder and managing director of Trusted Shops.
The accreditation is a sign that a shop is secure and legally compliant. Customers who shop with stores displaying the trustmark benefit from buyer protection and money back guarantees.
Zalando, an online store which already has the trustmark in the UK, is also expanding to ensure its success in online retail.
“For us as a customer orientated company, security and trust are key elements of our business model and we will be continuing our cooperation with Trusted Shops abroad,” said Fillip Dames, Chief Experience Officer at Zalando.
Consumers are 20 per cent more likely to make purchases in an online store when well-known trustmarks are used, according to research from INFAS, 2012.
“Trust has always been at the heart of M&S. As we continue to grow our online business in Europe, this award is important recognition that our website is an easy, convenient and secure way for customers to shop online,” said Michel Koch, M&S Head of International Multi-Channel Trading.
Trusted Shops is the only trustmark certifying online shops throughout the entire European Union, providing a greater level of trust across all borders. It ensures that retailers comply with consumer rights and refunds, offering buyer protection which ensures consumers are refunded in cases of non delivery or non refund.
