Margaret Howell to open MHL. store at Coal Drops Yard

Fashion designer Margaret Howell is to open one of her MHL. stores at Coal Drops Yard, the new Heatherwick Studio designed shopping area in London’s King’s Cross.

The store will be the third location for the designer’s second line following previous openings in Marylebone and Shoreditch.

Due to open this autumn, the store will be housed within two arches adjacent to the Regent’s Canal and will offer both menswear and womenswear. The MHL. line includes a range of basics and sportswear that compliment Howell’s mainline collection.

Set in of historic buildings and arches right next to Granary Square, Coal Drops Yard will be opening on 26 October and will be home to over 50 stores. Retailers joining the line-up include the likes of Paul Smith, Tom Dixon, Cubitts, Wolf & Badger, Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse and Samsung, as well as restaurants Barrafina, Casa Pastor and wine bar The Drop.

Coal Drops Yard was originally established in 1850 to handle the eight million tonnes of coal delivered to the capital each year. More recently it was the location of nightclubs Bagley’s and The Cross.
