MandMDirect hits £1 million fundraising landmark for Teenage Cancer Trust
Online fashion retailer MandM Direct has reached a £1 million fundraising landmark for its charity partner Teenage Cancer Trust. The milestone was celebrated at a special event during Teenage Cancer Trusts run of shows at the Royal Albert Hall.
Having worked with the charity since 2005, MandM Direct said the funds had been raised through a combination of regular product donations, marketing initiatives and employee fundraising events such as parachute jumps, treks and participation in the charity's annual Time for T day.
Mike Tomkins, chairman of MandM Direct and patron of Teenage Cancer Trust, said: "I approached Teenage Cancer Trust in 2005 after being inspired by what Roger Daltrey had achieved with the concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. Similar to the music industry, our company earns some of its profits through sales to teenagers. I wanted to create something similar through clothing and footwear sales through our website."
Siobhan Dunn, director of fundraising at Teenage Cancer Trust, added: "On behalf of everyone at Teenage Cancer Trust, I would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone at MandM Direct for the support they have given us over the last eight years and look forward to all our future collaborations."
