Lyle & Scott introduces beacon technology at its flagship Carnaby Street store
Knitwear brand Lyle & Scott has introduced beacon technology at its flagship store in Londons Carnaby Street.
The beacons are linked to mannequins within the store’s window display, currently Lyle & Scott Junior, which launched this month at the store. If the initial beacons provided by Iconeme are successful, Lyle & Scott may look to roll out the technology to other stockists and also incorporate it into broader marketing campaigns.
After customers download the Iconeme app, the beacons are triggered by a user’s phone from a distance of up to 30 metres and can be concealed within the store, sending messages in the form of an alert. From there, shoppers can access further information and prices for the clothes and accessories on display, be pointed to the location of products within store and receive offers and rewards.
The implementation of the technology comes at a pivotal time for Lyle & Scott as its launches new ranges including Lyle & Scott Junior.
To celebrate the launch, Lyle & Scott has been offering customers 20% off in-store purchases upon presentation of the app.
