London's West End cements its position as a global shopping destination

London’s West End has reached new heights as a global shopping destination with 35 new store openings this year and a further 19 stores due to launch by the end of 2015.

According to New West End Company, the organisation responsible for the promotion of London’s Bond Street, Oxford Street and Regent Street, the new openings will total almost 200,000 square feet of retail space.

The launch of the Simply Be and Jacamo store this week means a total of 35 brands have opened in the area this year. These include 18 international brands such as Moynat, Montblanc and Fendi. Other brands due to open in key shopping streets across the West End in the coming months include Victoria Beckham, Richard Mille and Michael Kors.

Richard Dickinson, chief executive of New West End Company, said: “The host of new brands opening flagships across London’s West End is a testament to the area’s identity and attraction as a leading international shopping destination. From high profile global names to British high street favourites, we’re proud to be able to offer shoppers such a prime retail mix, unrivalled anywhere in the UK.”
