Loaf opens first store
The 8,000 square foot space in London’s Battersea offers a range of Derbyshire-made beds and sofas as well as a collection of gifts and accessories including organic candles, bath products, tableware, and cashmere blankets.
Loaf founder, Charlie Marshall, said: “Our aim has been to make shopping for furniture online as simple and as hassle-free as possible. But there are still a large number of customers that want to see and touch the product before they buy. To respond to that demand we’ve created a seriously beautiful, bells and whistles store that we’ve filled with things to make people smile.”
The store features chill-out areas where customers can relax and play old-school games and children can visit the “Little Loafers” corner where they can also tuck into ice cream from a traditional-style parlour.
Launched in 2008 with a selection of 12 beds and one mattress, Loaf achieved sales of £27 million including VAT in the 2014/15 financial year.
Marshall added: “Our main focus right now is on getting the brand magic absolutely spot on. Our move to bricks and clicks is all about reaffirming our core values and giving customers a fantastic shopping experience.”
