Lloydspharmacy to open second Health Village

Lloydspharmacy is extending its Health Village concept with the opening of a second store in Thurrock, Essex.

The new store, due to open at Lakeside Retail Park on 3 December, is the second Health Village within Lloydspharmacy’s portfolio and will feature new services such as a private dental clinic and a day spa.

The pilot is part of Lloydspharmacy’s plans to widen its remit from a dispenser of medicines and advice to a provider of a broader range of health and wellbeing services. The new store will offer an opticians service provided by Vision Express, a podiatry service from Shuropody, as well as clinical dermatology, an audiology service, and a physiotherapy and sports injury clinic. The store will also feature a Coffee Republic cafe.

Tony Page, managing director at Lloydspharmacy said: “The healthcare needs of local communities are increasingly changing and with our community pharmacy experience as well as the expertise provided by our partner companies, we’re perfectly positioned to offer a suite of personalised, convenient health and wellbeing services all under one roof.”

He added: “As we continue to trial and evolve the concept, we’re pushing the boundaries by extending the retail offering at Thurrock, introducing new products and services that we know will be very much welcomed by local communities.”
