Lloydspharmacy names British Heart Foundation as National Charity Partner
Lloydspharmacy is to be the British Heart Foundation’s new national charity partner. The two year arrangement will see the pharmacy support the charity through a combination of corporate donation and fundraising.
Peter Hollins, British Heart Foundation chief executive, commented: “We are delighted that Lloydspharmacy has chosen to support the BHF through our new fundraising partnership and we’re really proud to have them on board for our 50th anniversary year.”
All funds raised by Lloydspharmacy staff will go towards the BHF’s
Mending Broken Hearts Appeal which commemorates the 50th anniversary year of the charity. The appeal will focus on research into regenerative medicine.
Lloyds said its staff had shown a keen interest in BHF organised events with some pharmacy teams braving sponsored skydives, swimathons, and walks throughout the year. Furthermore, two Lloydspharmacy employees ran on behalf of the BHF in the Virgin London Marathon this year.
Tony Page, managing director at Lloydspharmacy, said: “British Heart Foundation is a fantastic organisation which works tirelessly to understand and improve the nation’s heart health.”
“Heart health is a key priority for Lloydspharmacy so we are very pleased to extend our support to the BHF and its Mending Broken Hearts campaign.”
The limited edition Mending Broken Hearts pin badges, designed by Sir Peter Blake, are available at all 1650 Lloydspharmacy branches for a suggested donation of £1.
