Like-for-likes down at WHSmith
WHSmith has seen total sales grow by 1 per cent and like-for-like sales fall by 4 per cent in the first 13 weeks of its second financial half.
In an interim management statementcovering 1 March to 30 May, the retailer says like-for-like high street sales were down by 5 per cent in the period, while WHSmith Travel stores saw like-for-likes fall by 2 per cent. The group's airport stores have outperformed despite soft passenger numbers.
