Leeds gets ready for a new-look Debenhams

The new store has created a total of 18 new jobs.

The changes to the 78,700 sq ft department store on Briggate in Leeds City Centre include a full clean up of the building’s exterior and the installation of a new exterior window on Briggate; new interior flooring and branding; upgraded fitting rooms; a new Personal Shopper Suite and a new Services World.

The Leeds store is the latest store in Debenhams modernisation programme which has seen the Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow and Swindon stores all receive a make-over this year alone.

The department store chain will be giving stores across the country a face-lift to improve the quality of customers’ shopping experience, introduce new brands and create space for more own-bought product.

The ground floor, consisting of the Beauty Hall and Accessories department, which already has the highest density in the company, taking more money per sq ft than any other store, has increased in space by 37%. A new Beauty Room is now available for consultations and treatments away from the sales floor and some of the world’s most desirable beauty brands have been introduced

The cosmetics, womenswear, lingerie and childrenswear departments have all been expanded and new brands have been introduced including Phase Eight, Fuse, Ted Baker and FFP alongside top beauty brands Chanel, Bare Escentuals and Benefit Brow Bar. Debenhams is also the only store in Leeds where Dior beauty is currently available.

In addition, the store offers brands from the country’s best known design talent including Beach by Melissa Odabash, BDL by Ben de Lisi, Betty Jackson.Black, Butterfly by Matthew Williamson, EB by Erickson Beamon, Floozie by FrostFrench, Grey Rose by Jane Packer, H! by Henry Holland, J by Jasper Conran, Pearce II Fionda, Pip Hackett, Principles by Ben de Lisi, Reger by Janet Reger, Rocha.John Rocha,  Star by Julien Macdonald and Van Peterson 925.
