Leeds gets ready for a new-look Debenhams

The new look Debenhams will open its doors for the first time today, revealing a £2m make-over

The new store has created a total of 18 new jobs.

The changes to the 78,700 sq ft department store on Briggate in Leeds City Centre include a full clean up of the building’s exterior and the installation of a new exterior window on Briggate; new interior flooring and branding; upgraded fitting rooms; a new Personal Shopper Suite and a new Services World.

The Leeds store is the latest store in Debenhams modernisation programme which has seen the Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow and Swindon stores all receive a make-over this year alone.

The department store chain will be giving stores across the country a face-lift to improve the quality of customers’ shopping experience, introduce new brands and create space for more own-bought product.

The cosmetics, womenswear, lingerie and childrenswear departments have all been expanded and new brands have been introduced including Phase Eight, Fuse, Ted Baker and FFP alongside top beauty brands Chanel, Bare Escentuals and Benefit Brow Bar. Debenhams is also the only store in Leeds where Dior beauty is currently available.
