Lavazza opens first outlet in UK
Italian coffee specialist Lavazza has signed up to open its first UK coffee outlet at Newburys Parkway shopping centre.
Lavazza has taken a 3,542 sq ft unit on Parkway’s Middle Street for the outlet which is set to open this summer. The new Espression concept store will sell of Lavazza coffee based beverages and a selection of fresh food, as well as a range of coffee machines, barista equipment and coffees.
This latest letting follows a run of recent signings at the Standard Life Investments owned shopping centre. These include children’s toy store The Entertainer, country-style fashion retailer Joules and optician Ottica.
Ed Jenkins, head of UK retail at Standard Life Investments, said: "Following opening last October, we have secured some fantastic retailers, and since we opened the doors to John Lewis at home last month our footfall is consistently up by 17% and car park usage has increased 40%. Lavazza Espression is a perfect fit for Parkway, and indeed Newbury. We look forward to welcoming them to the town."
