Laura Ashley's like-for-like sales rise 1.4%
However total retail sales fell 1.7% year-on-year as the retailer rationalised its store portfolio and closed five unprofitable stores in addition to the fourteen stores closed last year.
The company’s online sales rose 9% in the period, helped by recent enhancements to the Laura Ashley website which now offers a fully comprehensive upholstery and made-to-measure curtain range on an interactive platform.
