Kurt Geiger to join Intu Lakeside

Premium shoe brand Kurt Geiger is to join Intu Lakeside’s mix of luxury retailers by opening a 1,600 square foot store.

The new shop will be situated on level two in the central atrium adjacent to the 360 Champagne and Cocktail bar and Tag Heuer and Goldsmiths Boutique.

Neil Clifford, Kurt Geiger chief executive, said: “We are very pleased to be opening a new store at Intu Lakeside, not only because of the centre’s great location and catchment population, but because it’s a centre which is always evolving to meet the needs and aspirations of its customers. We are positive our brand will perform well there and we look forward to launching the store this spring.”

Intu has acquired permission for a £100 million leisure development which will include cafés, restaurants and family entertainment venues focused around a new public square. In addition, planning permission has been granted for a hotel and outline planning consent has been obtained for a £180 million retail extension.

Julian Wilkinson, regional director of Intu, said: “Intu Lakeside encapsulates Intu’s passion for creating compelling destinations that attract customers more often, for longer. It’s great to see strong brands such as Kurt Geiger recognising the strength of our national brand which delivers a consistent signature customer experience.”
