Kingfisher appoints WWF's Dax Lovegrove as director of sustainability & innovation
Kingfisher, the owner of B&Q and Screwfix, has appointed World Wildlife Fund for Natures Dax Lovegrove as director of sustainability and innovation.
Lovegrove will join the group on 2 June after a decade of working with WWF as its head of business and industry.
In his new role, Lovegrove will be part of Kingfisher’s Net Positive team, reporting to group sustainability director Richard Gillies who joined the retailer from Marks & Spencer in October 2013.
He will be responsible for developing the group’s sustainability strategy and policy framework across environmental and social issues. This will include managing Kingfisher’s relationships with its external partners and advisors, as well as supporting international operating companies with their local sustainability strategies.
Commenting on the appointment Gillies said: “I am delighted that Dax will be joining Kingfisher’s Net Positive team in June this year. His experience in corporate sustainability and green innovation will be crucial to Kingfisher as we look to progress our Net Positive ambitions on an international scale.”
