KIKO MILANO chooses Leeds as base for northern expansion
The brand has taken a 2,000 sq ft unit on Albion Street which will be its fifth store in the UK.
Sabrina Rahim, regional manager for KIKO MILANO said: “We chose Leeds because Trinity Leeds is the most important shopping centre in the north of England and it’s a great base to start our Northern expansion. We will do a special city centre fit out for the new store, normally reserved for our flagship stores in capital cities around the world.”
Meanwhile, US fashion brand DKNY is to open a 2,265 sq ft standalone store on the ground and basement floors of the Land Securities operated shopping centre.
New brands to Leeds which have taken stores at Trinity Leeds include Victoria’s Secret, Mango, and Armani Exchange. The addition of DKNY and KIKO MILANO brings the number of new brands in the city to 65.
Gerald Jennings, portfolio director for Land Securities, said: “The vibrancy, exciting retail offer and forward thinking nature of Leeds have been widely noted across the industry in recent years and signings such these will meet the demands of our savvy yet dedicated customer base.
“We are committed to providing them with a unrivalled retail offer in the heart of the city, bringing them shops that would have previously required a two hour train journey to visit.”
