Karen Millen makes senior global appointment
Womens fashion retailer Karen Millen has appointed Sian Hession as its global retail operations director. Hession will join the retailer in the newly created role next week reporting to managing director Gemma Metheringham.
With over 25 years experience working with international retail brands, Hession is the former retail director of Coast and CEO of Long Tall Sally. Most recently she has led projects for Damsel in a Dress, Aspinal of London and Boden, and has also worked with The Disney Store to develop international growth across multiple territories.
In her new role, Hession will spearhead a new strategic initiative to define and deliver the global Karen Millen brand experience across 40 ‘showcase’ stores in cities across the world. The initiative aims to increase the contribution these showcase stores make to Karen Millen sales and will encompass the complete multi-channel experience, from visual merchandising to the in-store experience and online engagement.
Gemma Metheringham, joint managing director of Karen Millen, commented: "We’re delighted to further strengthen our senior management team with the appointment of someone of Sian’s calibre and experience. The fact that we’re able to attract the best talent in the industry is testament to the scale and success of the Karen Millen brand and the growth opportunities ahead. We’re excited to welcome her on board."
