JYSK to debut in Indonesia
Danish furniture retailer JYSK is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year by expanding into its 36th country Indonesia.
The first JYSK store in Indonesia will open its doors to the public at the end of February in the capital city of Jakarta. Situated in the Mall Taman Anggrek shopping centre, the store will be the same size as a Danish JYSK store with a sales area of around 1,200 square metres. The store will be operated by local investors.
JYSK said that although planning for the next wave of store openings in Indonesia was underway, it was difficult to predict how quickly the project would proceed as the retailer would like to measure customers' reaction to the first store before expanding further.
