JYSK embarks on IT recruitment push

Furniture retailer JYSK has launched a new campaign to help it attract more employees with IT and SAP skills.

The campaign includes the release of short films on social media channels featuring employees from JYSK’s IT and SAP departments telling the story about everyday life at JYSK.

Henrik Naundrup, executive vice president, finance & IT in JYSK Nordic, said: “Fundamentally, JYSK is facing massive investments in IT. I expect that we during the next three years will invest around €70 million in IT systems, and that of course demands that we have the right and the best employees. That is the background for our new campaign to attract even more competent employees within IT.”

JYSK hopes the campaign will give IT and SAP specialists an authentic view of what it is like to work at JYSK.

Naundrup added: “There may still be some people who only see JYSK as a local store, though it is many years ago that was the case. Today, JYSK is an international retail chain with more than 2,500 stores in 48 countries and we have some very advanced IT solutions within many areas like e-business and logistics. JYSK is furthermore a company with technically challenging IT projects where our employees are offered responsibility for following through very large projects with help from highly skilled colleagues.”

JYSK is planning a massive investment in IT platforms over the next few years and is looking to boost the competencies of its IT teams.

“We need employees with competencies within web, SAP and Java development. Some of the most prioritised projects at the moment are development of a unified commerce platform, advanced ecommerce functions, internal mobility projects targeted at our store network and implementation of SAP eWM within logistics and storage control,” added Naundrup.
