Joules delivers bumper Christmas sales growth

Lifestyle clothing brand Joules delivered a strong performance over the Christmas trading period with total retail sales climbing by 22.8% year-on-year.

In a statement, the company said its retail gross margin rate in the seven weeks to 8 January is expected to be marginally ahead of the previous year.

Colin Porter, Joules chief executive, said: “This strong outcome over the important Christmas trading period reflects the growing awareness and strength of the Joules brand.

“The success of our disciplined, multi-channel, sales strategy across this important trading period is made possible by the dedication and commitment of our team. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their hard work.”

Joules will announce its interim results for the 26 weeks to 27 November 2016 on 31 January.
