Joules CEO Colin Porter to retire

The chief executive of the Joules lifestyle fashion brand is to retire before the end of the company’s 2020 financial year.

Colin Porter joined Joules in 2010 from Crombie where he was joint managing director. Prior to that, he was commercial director at House of Fraser.

He oversaw Joules' IPO on to AIM in May 2016 and has also been credited with achieving strong sales growth both in the UK and overseas.

In a statement, Joules said the exact timing of Porter’s retirement is yet to be confirmed, but that a process to appoint his successor has already begun.

Ian Filby, non-executive chairman of Joules, said: “Colin has made a truly outstanding contribution to Joules since joining the business in 2010. During his tenure, Joules has achieved fantastic growth both in the UK and internationally.

“Joules has a committed, experienced and highly skilled executive management team who, along with Colin's successor, will continue to focus on expanding Joules as a leading lifestyle brand."

Earlier this month, it was announced that Porter is to become the new chairman of the Moss menswear retailer.
