Joseph Cheaney & Sons to open flagship store in Jermyn Street
Classic English shoemaker Joseph Cheaney & Sons is to open a flagship store in Londons Jermyn Street within the Crown Estates newly completed Eagle Place development.
Cheaney & Sons has been making traditional English shoes in Northamptonshire since 1886 and its shoes are still handcrafted in the original factory, from the cutting out of the leather through stitching to final polishing.
The company’s other stores include four in London and a factory shop in Northamptonshire. It also operates an online business.
William Church, joint managing director for Cheaney, said: "We are really excited to be opening our new flagship store in the prestigious location of Jermyn Street and working with The Crown Estate. We aim to blend all that is great about our Northamptonshire shoemaking heritage with a contemporary shop-fit that will provide a stimulating experience for our customers."
