Electrical and home technology sales were up 2.1% after the retailer saw strong sales across TVs, small electrical items, vacuum cleaners and large electrical items.
Fashion sales increased by 0.4% as trade was boosted by a 6.3% uplift in the womenswear category where customers began to buy items for their spring/summer wardrobes.
Meanwhile, home sales were down 0.8% despite 3.3% growth in furniture and flooring sales.
