John Lewis reveals top five toy predictions for Christmas
In its predictions for the top five best-selling toys for this Christmas, John Lewis says the majority will be inspired by childrenÂ’s dreams of what they want to do when they grow up.
The retailer said this year’s list reflects what many children would regard as their dream jobs such as a chef, architect, detective, doctor and the next Steve Jobs.
The Mini Kitchen priced at £50 is predicted to be a best-seller following last year’s record sales of the Big Kitchen as children get inspired by celebrity chefs such as Jamie Oliver and Nigella Lawson.
Construction-based toys are also forecast to be a big hit with LEGO Creator Winter Village Cottage expected to be a firm favourite with budding architects.
Other toys which the retailer expects to make the top five include the John Lewis Spy Watch and Pen and the Doc McStuffins doctor set with the remaining slot taken by the newest addition to the Furby family, the iPad-compatible Furby Boom.
Ian Ellis, toy buyer at John Lewis, explained: “With Furbys selling out in record time last year, we expect these furry friends to be another huge hit with parents and children. Taking tips from Britain’s favourite television shows such as The Apprentice and Jamie’s 30 Minute Meals, the next generation are inspired to recreate these professions at home with creative and innovative play.”

Mini Kitchen £50.00
