John Lewis launches 2012 graduate training scheme
John Lewis has announced that it has launched its 2012 graduate scheme. The three year programme offers suitably qualified applicants jobs in one of five areas Retail Management, Buying, Merchandising, Corporate Finance and Corporate IT.
The retailer said that successful applicants will benefit from on-the-job experience and fast track career development. Throughout the programme they will be given a variety of responsibilities to help prepare them for a long-term career in the retail sector.
The training scheme is supported by a range of formal training courses and seminars in skills such as leadership, communication and performance management, as well as sales and business results analysis. Graduates are also given individual coaching and mentoring support, as well as being encouraged to attend a centrally organised programme of events.
Commenting on the scheme, Sophie Adams, recruitment manager, John Lewis said: “John Lewis offers successful graduates the chance to accelerate their career development with training sessions and guidance. We have seen many Partners (staff) progress through our graduate training up to senior management roles and we hope to see many more graduates achieve this with the combination of high quality training, interesting roles and generous reward schemes.”
