John Lewis operations director to retire at end of May

John Lewis & Partners' operations director Dino Rocos will be retiring at the end of May after 43 years with the business.

As a result, Bérangère Michel, the department store chain’s current finance director, will become operations director at the end of January and take on responsibility for the retailer’s end-to-end supply chain and store estate.

Meanwhile Rocos will report to Patrick Lewis, the John Lewis Partnership group finance director, until he leaves and will lead the company’s ongoing work on its future supply chain.

Commenting on the news, Paula Nickolds, John Lewis & Partners managing director, said: “I can't overemphasise the scale of the contribution Dino has made to John Lewis - he has transformed every element of our supply chain to create the distribution network we enjoy today. I am extremely grateful to him for his support and commitment to the partnership.”

John Lewis & Partners is now seeking a new finance director to succeed Michel. In the meantime, the role will be carried out on an interim basis by Andy Mounsey who is currently head of finance.
