M&S wine buyer to join Harrods
Jo Ahearne, Mark & SpencerÂ’s wine buyer, is to leave the retailer in November to become HarrodsÂ’ wine and spirits buyer.
Ahearne will replace Alistair Viner who left Harrods in June this year after 16 years service with the London department store.
Prior to joining M&S in 2004, Ahearne worked as a consultant winemaker in Spain and France, and has also worked in Australia with Jacob’s Creek.
Meanwhile Viner has announced that he is working on a new London retail concept called Blackdown Wines, which has offices in Belgravia.
He said that news of the shop’s location will be revealed in “two to three months”, along with further information such as the wine range and positioning.
