Carhartt WIP to join line-up at Kings Cross

Carhartt WIP, a European evolution of American brand Carhartt, is to join the retail line-up at London’s King’s Cross when it opens a 2,500 square foot store on the new King’s Boulevard development in September.

The brand will be the third retailer to open on King’s Boulevard, following Nike Central’s opening in August last year and the imminent launch of fashion retailer Jigsaw’s new store in Three Pancras Square. The remaining units on King’s Boulevard are under offer.

Designed by multidisciplinary design agency Faye Toogood, the Carhartt WIP store will feature a modular layout to enable the space to be moved and adapted to a changing retail campaign.

Annual footfall on King’s Boulevard is estimated to reach 18 million people by 2019. The main concentration of retail at King’s Cross will be at Coal Drops Yard which is set to open in the autumn of next year and will offer 100,000 square feet of space for up to 65 shops, a major restaurant and numerous cafes.

Craig White, project director at Argent, said: “Iconic King’s Cross is one of London’s most vibrant, energetic and dynamic neighbourhoods right now, and the retail element is the next layer to be revealed.”
