In-store iPad finance system improves Aurora customer journey

Aurora Group, the owner of Coast, Oasis and Warehouse, has integrated a new finance application system to enable its customers to apply for branded store cards via in-store iPads.

The retailer said the iFinance system provided by retail finance specialist Ikano Financial Services has streamlined the store card application process, making it quicker and easier for customers and store teams.

Customers are still be able to apply for store cards via handwritten application forms and call the Ikano customer contact centre, but the new secure iPad system offers a quicker and more convenient way of signing up for a card.

Ishan Patel, Aurora Group omni-channel director said: “iFinance has received positive feedback from our customers and store teams, as it’s much quicker, and a more customer friendly process.

“This is another example of where Aurora has focused on improving the end to end customer experience in store, which in turn helps us to deliver improvements to our retail sales.”

Aurora is the first UK fashion retail group to implement Ikano’s iFinance iPad system. The system, which allows customers to buy in-store immediately if their application is accepted, is now expected to be rolled out to other UK fashion retailers.

Lindsey Ulanowsky, head of client services and marketing at Ikano, said: “We are delighted that the application system has been positively received by the instore staff. We work together with our retail partners to make sure we deliver a compliant customer process that is as convenient and straightforward as possible.

“The next 12 months will see Ikano launch a number of multichannel tools that will add value to our clients’ offer to their customers, with the next being a smartphone loyalty app.”
