IKEA grows sales and market share
Sales in comparable stores grew by 1.8%. The retailer said some of the strongest growth was seen in Russia and China although good progress was also made in North America.
President and chief executive Peter Agnefjäll said: “Value for money is increasingly important to our customers – and our sales development shows that people all over the world appreciate our concept of good quality, well-designed products at low prices.”
While sales in southern Europe continued to be affected by the difficult economic conditions, IKEA said it had continued gaining market share in almost all its markets.
IKEA will publish its full report on the financial year in January 2014.
