Hudson's Bay Company promotes Donald Watros to role of president
Hudsons Bay Company, the owner of the Saks Fifth Avenue department store chain, has promoted chief operating officer Donald Watros to the role of president.
Taking up his new position on 1 February 2014, Watros will continue to report to chief executive Richard Baker.
Commenting on the appointment Baker said: "Don Watros’ role as president is integral to a new, robust leadership structure that will focus on managing and growing HBC along with its strong and expanding portfolio of brands.
"Don’s significant retail experience combined with his track record of operational excellence were key in selecting him for this important role and will further our development as a premier North American fashion retailer."
Watros has been chief operating officer at HBC since 2009. His previous roles include chief administrative officer at Saks, which HBC acquired in July.
In addition to Saks Fifth Avenue, HBC’s other retail chains include Hudson's Bay, Lord & Taylor and Home Outfitters.
