House of Fraser takes website offline due to warehouse dispute
Department store chain House of Fraser has taken its website offline following a dispute over payment with its warehouse operator.
Acquired last week by Sports Direct after it called in administrators, House of Fraser has now posted the following message on its website: “We’re currently working hard to make some improvements to the website. Don’t worry, we will be back up and running as soon as possible. While we’re otherwise occupied, check out our social channels below to see what we’ve been up to.”
According to The Guardian, problems arose after XPO Logistics paused order processing for House of Fraser at its Milton Keynes and Wellingborough warehouses. Staff at the Milton Keynes warehouse are understood to have been told to down tools but will still be paid their basic wages. However, some staff may see their productivity bonuses affected.
The move has led to multiple customer complaints about failed or delayed deliveries.
