Hot Tuna leaps into the black

Surf wear and fashion brand delivers gross profit of £248,000.

For the year ended 30 June 2009 gross profit was £248,000 compared to a loss of £27,000 a year earlier. Revenue for the year rose 1.6 per cent to £1,144,000. UK & EU sales were up 33 per cent on last year.

Commenting on the results, Geoff O'Connell, CEO, said "Although over the past year the retail trading environment was challenging, we have worked hard to simplify the corporate structure and reduce our operating costs. This has resulted in a more streamlined and higher margin business."
