Homebase garden wins Gold at Chelsea
Homebase has won a gold medal at this years Chelsea Flower show for its Time to Reflect garden in association with Alzheimers Society.
This is the third time that the DIY retailer and garden centre has won a gold medal at the annual show.
Designed by award-winning garden designer Adam Frost, the garden was built with the help of students from the retailer’s first-ever Homebase Garden Academy which teaches students about planting and landscaping, as well as helping them to work towards the RHS Level 1 Award.
Matthew Compton, head of garden at Homebase, said: “Winning Gold is a fantastic achievement but it’s really the icing on the cake to what has been an incredible journey for the Garden Academy.
“This year has really stood out and nothing is more satisfying then helping young enthusiastic gardeners get their career in horticulture started – and this is only the beginning.
“We hope the stories of everyone involved in making this year’s garden a great success inspire not only the next generation of gardeners through our Academy – but everyone to get outside and enjoy their garden.”
