Homebase enhances mobile commerce proposition with launch of Reserve & Collect app
The retailer confirms online sales from mobiles have increased over 600% in the last year
Homebase has launched a free “on the go” shopping platform, to leverage the 3 million stock checks that customers have made on www.homebase.co.uk this financial year.
The Apple OS Homebase app includes over 30,000 browsable products. Customers can use the app to check stock and reserve 20,000 products for in-store collection in all 330 UK Homebase stores. Online Homebase product stock enquiries have increased 30% since October 2009, with the decorating category receiving the highest volume of stock checks.
Products featured on the app are in 13 categories including; 158 ‘ecohome’ products; 159 Homebase ‘best buys’; and a temporary ‘Christmas’ category with 1,496 festive products all now accessible from Apple iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch devices.
With customer reviews an increasing factor in driving online customer engagement, Homebase has added an additional feature for its app which allows users to organise search results by customer review score.
