Hobbycraft promotes Dominic Jordan to chief executive role
Previously retail operations director, Jordan joined Hobbycraft in 2012 after working for 12 years with Pets at Home.
Jordan said: “I am excited to become Hobbycraft’s CEO to lead a business that I know to have such an exceptional team and incredible range of products. I look forward to working with them to drive further growth and build our customer experience in-store or online.”
He has succeeded John Colley who left the business last year.
In a further announcement, Hobbycraft said it has appointed Matt Davies as chairman. Due to take up his position on 1 May, Davies will succeed Archie Norman who is leaving after over four years in the role.
Currently chief executive of Tesco’s UK and Irish business, Davies will leave Tesco at the end of April following the supermarket’s merger with Booker. Prior to Tesco, he was chief executive of Halfords from 2012 to 2015 and chief executive of Pets at Home from 2004 to 2012. He is also chairman designate of N Brown.
Norman said: “Matt is a highly regarded and successful retailer who has worked with some of the UK’s best known retail brands. I wish him every success and know that he and Dominic will have a great impact on the continuing future growth of the business with the benefit of the major operational programme we have just completed.”
Hobbycraft operates 90 stores across the UK.
