Harriet Kelsall named Woman of the Year at Specsavers Everywoman in Retail Awards
Jewellery designer and retailer Harriett Kelsall was named as Woman of the Year at the 2011 Specsavers Everywoman in Retail Awards ceremony held last night at Londons Savoy Hotel.
The awards, organised by Everywoman, encourage, support and celebrate the achievements of women working in the retail industry.
Kelsall, MD of Harriet Kelsall Jewellery Design, was awarded the accolade in recognition of her “vision, innovative approach and success which has made her an outstanding role model that will inspire more women to choose a career in retail.”
Having started her business ten years ago from her spare room, Kelsall now employs nearly 30 staff and achieves an annual turnover of £1.5 million. The ceremony also saw Mike Goring, managing director of BHS receive a Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of his role in enabling women to reach the senior ranks of the retail industry.
Seven other awards were presented throughout the evening. A full list of winners and finalists can be found here.
