Grenson to open new London store

English shoemaker Grenson is to open a new store at Lambs Conduit Street in London’s Bloomsbury.

Grenson, which has produced ‘Made in England’ shoes for almost 150 years, will occupy a 1,286 sq ft unit at 40 Lambs Conduit Street, adjacent to the J Crew menswear store.

It will be Grenson’s third London store, with outlets already open in Liverpool Street in The City and in nearby Hanbury Street in Shoreditch.

Grenson follows closely behind US fashion brand J Crew, which opened its first UK store at Lambs Conduit Street in October, and joins British Fashion designer Oliver Spencer, who opened his second store, and launched his womenswear offer, on the street in 2008. Lambs Conduit Street is also home to a number of independent fashion brands, including Folk and The Dark Room.

The Grenson store is due to open in early 2014.

Tim Little, owner and creative director of Grenson, said: "We are delighted to be opening a shop on Lambs Conduit Street, we love the other brands on the street and feel that we compliment what they do. This is our biggest shop to date and it will give us the opportunity to do events, bespoke and many other things that we haven't been able to do in our smaller shops."

Josephine de Castro, associate partner at commercial property advisers Farebrother, added: “Grenson will be a great addition to Lambs Conduit Street, which over ten years has developed into one of London’s most desirable retail addresses.”
