GAME appoints Mark Gifford as CFO
GAME has appointed House of FraserÂ’s Mark Gifford as its group chief financial officer.
He will succeed Benedict Smith who announced in March 2015 that he would be stepping down from the role to take up the same position at a private equity-backed business.
Gifford will take up his new role in October 2015 and will report directly to GAME’s chief executive Martyn Gibbs.
Currently chief financial officer of House of Fraser, his previous positions include senior roles at travel company First Choice including finance director - First Choice Retail.
Gibbs said: "Mark brings a wealth of experience driving successful strategic, operational and financial delivery in retail and consumer facing businesses and will be a great asset to GAME. He is a high calibre individual who will build on what we have already achieved as we continue in our mission to build the most valuable community of gamers."
Smith will remain with GAME until the end of July to coincide with the end of GAME's financial year.
