FSB launches Keep Trade Local parking crowdmap
The Federation of Small Businesses has launched a parking crowdmap to show how the availability of parking affects small businesses in each of Londons 33 boroughs.
The organisation also hopes that the initiative, which is part of its Keep Trade Local campaign, will highlight how councils can share best practice to use parking as a weapon to create growth in local shops.
Steve Warwick, the FSB’s London regional chairman, explained: "Parking continues to be one of the major policy concerns for our London members which is why we have devised a parking crowdmap that we are getting businesses to populate. This will give the FSB greater power to persuade councils to think small first with their parking policies and ensure that more customers shop locally and are not forced to going to out of town supermarkets."
The FSB says that 64% of small businesses in London think that the availability of parking has had a negative impact on their business.
