Former New Look CEO to take the helm at Esprit

Fashion retailer Esprit has appointed former New Look head Anders Kristiansen as its new chief executive as it looks ahead to a new phase of growth.

Due to take up his new position on 1 June, Kristiansen will succeed Jose Manuel Martínez Gutiérrez who will step down on the same date.

The company has also said that Raymond Or will have his role re-designated from independent non-executive chairman to executive chairman on or before 1 April.

Commenting on Kristiansen’s appointment, Or said: “Mr Kristiansen is a well-rounded and seasoned executive in the fashion industry, with extensive experience in successful business development both in Europe and Asia, especially China.
