First retailers announced for Lincoln Cornhill QuarterÂ’s £70 million redevelopment Â
Established developer Lincolnshire Co-op has taken a significant step forward in the redevelopment of The Cornhill Quarter in Lincoln through the signing of three new retailers.
Moss Bros, Cosy Club and Tiger will all take space at the scheme as part of a £70 million redevelopment of the city centre retail destination.
The three brands will be situated in the 27,000 square foot Corn Exchange building, which will be reconfigured and extended as part of the phased redevelopment of the area. Once finished, the Corn Exchange will comprise five units with larger floorplates better suited to modern retailer and restaurant requirements.
The Cornhill Quarter scheme will rejuvenate a significant area of Lincoln’s retail pitch encompassing Sincil Street, City Square and the Cornhill, through a combination of repair, refurbishment, extension and new development. Work has already commenced at the Grade II Listed Corn Exchange building, which will be restored to its former glory.
Ursula Lidbetter, Lincolnshire Co-op’s chief executive, said: “Our plan is to deliver an exciting range of shops and restaurants suitable for the local catchment and the wider region in order to increase footfall and further enhance our vibrant city centre. This announcement is the first step towards that and supporting Lincoln as a fast growing and affluent city. With The Cornhill Quarter at its heart, we are confident Lincoln will attract even more visitors both from the surrounding area, nationwide and internationally.”
