First phase of Resorts World Birmingham to launch next week

The first phase of Resorts World Birmingham, the £150 million leisure and entertainment resort, will launch on 21 October.

Resorts World said visitors on the first few days will find over two thirds of the shops in the outlet mall open. This will be followed by the opening of the complex’s casino, bars and restaurants on 26 October and an 11 screen Cineworld cinema on 23 October.

Adding to the anchor stores GAP Outlet, Nike Factory Store and Next Outlet is H&M which is opening its second outlet store at the scheme. This will be joined by The Body Shop, Holland and Barrett, Regatta Outdoors and Trespass. Fashion retailers Pretty Green, Carharrt and Pringle of Scotland are also confirmed as well as bespoke candle retailer Farringdon and Forbes and childrenswear line Legowear.

In addition, Spanish children’s fashion retailer Charanga and ladies fashion designer Winser London will open in early November.

Only five retail units and one food and beverage space remain to be let.

Resorts World Birmingham is part of the Malaysian based global leisure business, the Genting Group.

Steve Myers, managing director of development at Resorts World Birmingham, said: “As we reveal more of the retailers who will be part of the retail mix at Resorts World Birmingham the greater I believe we are creating the right environment for the West Midlands first major outlet shopping experience. We have an exciting and diverse range of High Street retailers who all bring unique product ranges to our overall offer.”
