Farfetch hires Stephanie Horton as chief marketing officer
Farfetch, the online marketplace for independent fashion boutiques, has appointed Shopbops Stephanie Horton as chief marketing officer.
Reporting to Farfetch founder and chief executive Jose Neves, Horton will oversee Farfetch’s global marketing and public relations strategies from its head office in London.
Commenting on the appointment Neves said: "We opened a New York office this month, brought in Gabrielle de Papp, formerly vice president of corporate public relations from Neiman Marcus, and now we are thrilled to announce that Stephanie Horton is joining the company. Stephanie's expertise merges business with creativity. She is renowned for her ability to make big ideas a reality."
Horton is joining Farfetch from Shopbop where she was head of global communications with responsibility for the US and global communications strategy of the brand. Prior to Shopbop, she was executive director of creative services at Vogue, and director of marketing at the New York Times.
Horton said: "I'm excited to be joining the Farfetch team. It's such a uniquely positioned brand, and there is endless opportunity to create compelling content to engage customers in completely new ways. I look forward to working with the talented team at Farfetch, and being a part of its' evolution into a global business."
Launched in 2008, Farfetch brings together 250 fashion boutiques from around the world.
