English Cut opens flagship Marylebone store

English Cut, the British tailoring brand, has chosen London’s Marylebone as the location for its first flagship store.

The 605 square foot shop on Chiltern Street will offer made-to-measure and ready to wear tailoring services.

Founded in 2001 by former Anderson & Sheppard’s head cutter Thomas Mahon, English Cut was previously situated in Savile Row.

Mahon said: “The English Cut philosophy is based on ‘expertise, authority and authenticity’, something that I believe resonates with the unique character of Chiltern Street. As one of London’s emerging menswear destination, we are excited to make Chiltern Street our new home in London.”

Chiltern Street is becoming a hub for menswear and includes stores such as Trunk Clothiers, Hamilton and Hare, and Sunspel.

Philip Norris, head of retail at the Portman Estate, added: “We are delighted to welcome English Cut to Chiltern Street. As a heritage brand that champions craftsmanship, style and tradition, English Cut will perfectly complement the existing menswear offer on the street.”
