Ebay promotes Sarah Calcott to senior marketing director role
Ebay has promoted Sarah Calcott to the position of senior marketing director for the UK.
Calcott will replace Amanda Metcalfe, Ebay’s first marketing director for the UK and & Ireland, who has left the company after just 12 months in the role.
Reporting to Ebay European vice-president of marketing Alex Von Schirmeister, Calcott will be responsible for attracting, engaging and retaining shoppers as well as overseeing the online marketplace’s sponsorship of London Fashion Week.
Calcott joined Ebay in 2012 in the role of director of programme delivery for Europe. Prior to Ebay, Calcott worked with BSkyB where she led the company’s consumer marketing operations.
Commenting on the appointment, Von Schirmeister said: "As Ebay has evolved, so have consumer behaviours and expectations when it comes to shopping – they want to be connected to the things they need and love, anytime, anywhere, on any device.
"This exciting period of change means it is vital we have the right people supporting the business as our evolution journey continues."
