Ebay appoints new fashion director

Ebay has appointed Amanda Metcalfe as director of fashion inventory and assortment. Metcalfe joins Ebay from the designer discount fashion e-tailer Cocosa.com where she was marketing director.

With extensive experience in multi-channel retailing, Metcalfe  began her career with Selfridges in the mid 1990’s working on its strategic re-positioning and brand re-launch.  She then worked at Laura Ashley during a period of major international expansion working extensively in the US and Europe, and has held a number of senior multi-channel roles at Debenhams.  More recently, she specialised in online retail holding marketing director positions at discount fashion e-tailer koodos.com, and luxury fashion site my-wardrobe.com.

Commenting on the appointment, Ebay’s general manager for fashion, Miriam Lahage said: I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Amanda to eBay.  She brings with her a wealth of knowledge, dynamism and experience and is extremely well positioned to drive greater customer engagement and innovation into what is already our fastest growing category.   Amanda’s appointment further strengthens our existing team of fashion retail experts and I look forward to working with her as we continue to re-shape the fashion experience on Ebay.”
