Dixons to take on 3,000 Christmas workers
Dixons, the owner of of Currys and PC World, is to hire 3,000 temporary staff in the lead-up to Christmas.
As well as roles in the Currys and PC World stores, there will also be jobs available at the company’s Knowhow contact centre in Sheffield and its distribution and delivery hub in Newark.
Dixons said it hopes that many of the best-performing temporary staff will find permanent positions within the group. Last year, Dixons Retail recruited 3,000 staff during the Christmas period, of which 300 remained with the business on a permanent basis.
Bridget Hutchinson, head of resourcing for Dixons Retail, said: "As we are preparing for another record-breaking Christmas period we are excited to be looking for new colleagues to join us to help deliver a great customer experience.
"Christmas is the busiest time for Currys and PC World and we are looking for switched-on people with a passion for providing a great customer experience. We aim never to leave a customer to fend for themselves and this is the time of year when we help make our customers’ shopping trip an easy one, by providing expert help."
