Despite challenging winter weather John Lewis sales exceed £120 million
The store group said that last week (to Sat Dec 18th) saw sales exceeding the 120m mark for the second time in its history
This was just slightly below the previous week's (to Sat Dec 11th) record sales of £121.03m. The £120.3m figure for last week is 7% up on last year.
Last week saw four branches (Nottingham, Edinburgh , Glasgow and Peter Jones) achieve record week's sales and last Monday (Dec 13th) saw John Lewis' online operation achieve their highest sales day ever.
Andrew Murphy, John Lewis Retail Director, says, "Under the current weather conditions, to have come so close to the recent record week is a testimony to how much customers value John Lewis for our range of quality products, excellent customer service and our 'Never Knowingly Undersold' price matching promise.
