Dealz to open 10 new stores in Ireland
Dealz, the Poundland owned Irish discount retailer, has announced plans to invest almost 3 million in the Irish economy by opening 10 new stores in the country in its new financial year. The stores will create a minimum of 300 new jobs.
Since launching in Ireland in September 2011, Dealz has opened twenty stores and employed around 600 people. The retailer also plans to open shops in Dun Laoghaire and Clonmel by the end of the current financial year.
CEO Jim McCarthy said: "We are thrilled to be celebrating our first year of trading in Ireland and to announce our exciting store expansion plans. Given that employment figures are so low in Ireland we are delighted that we can offer even more people a job as each new store creates job opportunities across Ireland.
"Dealz is committed to bringing amazing value to our customers every day with our €1.49 price point and are looking forward to bringing our extensive range of great products and top brands to even more savvy Irish consumers."
