Cyber attack targets Tesco.com
Tesco has been forced to deactivate some of its customers online accounts after a cyber attack saw thousands of tesco.com usernames and passwords being posted online.
According to the BBC, a list of more than 2,000 Tesco.com accounts was posted to a popular text-sharing website yesterday.
The data is understood to have been gathered by cyber thieves who obtained the details by attacking other sites and then tried to use the usernames and passwords to access Tesco.com.
The BBC said it had received a small number of emails from people who had confirmed that their accounts had been deactivated while one person said the attackers had tried to steal store vouchers.
Tesco said in a statement: "We have contacted all customers who may have been affected and are committed to ensuring that none of them miss out as a result of this. We will issue replacement vouchers to the very small number who are affected."
